The letter to Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-Nev.) and Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Kent.) would extend the flood insurance program, which covers flood-prone properties for about 5.6 million property owners in the U.S., would extend the measure for five years.
