Cornish Mutual supports Young Farmers Clubs

Rural insurer Cornish Mutual has announced a new sponsorship deal to support Devon’s young farmers with training and activities.

Over the course of the next twelve months Cornish Mutual will be supporting a range of events that have been organised by the Devon Federation of Young Farmers Clubs.

Seventeen year old Jessica Medland from Peter Tavy and 21 year old Tim French from Gunnislake will be participating the Okehampton ‘Skills for Life’ course next month.

Medland and French will take part in sheep shearing training sessions subsided by the YFC, with support provided by Cornish Mutual.

The insurer will also provide financial support for the Farm Business Competition which helps young farmers from 17-26 years of age sharpen their business/presentation abilities.

Managing Director Alan Goddard has said that the young farmers of the region are its future, and it was important to support them.

Goddard described the Young Farmers Clubs as vital to the community, and added that Cornish Mutual was delighted to be collaborating with them.
