Ethical and green insurer Naturesave Insurance has won the Queen’s Award for Enterprise for Sustainable Development.
Naturesave, the first insurer ever to win the award, is based in Totnes and Managing Director Matthew Criddle said that the firm was thrilled to be recognised.
Criddle added that it did pay to be genuinely green, and said that both society at large and clients in particular valued the concept of sustainability.
The Award is bestowed by The Queen, after advice from the Prime Minister and an Advisory Committee.
The award citation described Naturesave as an ethical insurance cover provider which set a clear benchmark for other members of the industry.
The firm offers a broad range of insurance coverage, and promotes sustainability in a number of ways, including environmental audits and surveys and recommending to clients ways to enhance the environmental sustainability of their working practices.
