Zurich appoints chief administrative officer

Zurich Financial Services Group has announced the appointment of Christian Orator to the position of chief administrative officer.

Orator will assume a seat on the Group Executive Committee when he takes up his new post, his appointment being effective from 1 September of this year.

He will succeed Richard P. Kearns, who is set for early retirement next year.

Orator will play a critical role in Zurich’s planning and strategy, as well as leading the Corporate Centre.

Previously he worked as global chief claims officer within General Insurance, a post he has held since 2007, and has been with Zurich since 1989.

For the two years before becoming global chief claims officer he spearheaded special initiatives in the officer of the Chief Administrative Officer, where he served as deputy.
